Occupational Therapy
Bloom Activities

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a therapeutic discipline that focuses on the treatment of individuals with developmental delay, injury, various disabilities, and congenital deficits.

Occupational therapists help adults and children achieve independence in all areas of their lives. OT can address a diversity of problems and skills sets. For instance, hand writing, activities of daily living, sensory processing, and more.

The following are a some of the treatment methods used by occupational therapists:

  • Cognitive training
  • Activities of daily living training
  • Sensory integration
  • Strengthening
  • Fine-motor skills training
  • Splinting
  • sensory processing/ sensory integration
  • Visual motor integration

Our expansive clinics are equipped with several areas for our patients to address skills in independence with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Such areas include a full size kitchen, specialized continence training bathrooms, laundry room, and a fruit and vegetable garden.  Many of our patients are able to address clinical goals to increase their independence by learning how to use the equipment on site for meal preparation, sequential task completion, continence independence, caring for, and harvesting plants in the garden, among many other opportunities that our clinic has to offer to increase the social significance of each POC.

Occupational therapists can play an integral role in an individual’s treatment plan. At Bloom, all therapists collaborate in the development of patient goals to ensure the most comprehensive approach to client care. Please contact us today if you are interested in receiving occupational therapy services.
