Staff Training Supervision Methods

At Bloom we pride ourselves on the competency and skill level of all our staff members.  We only have licensed OTs and SLPs on staff, as well as several board certified behavioral clinicians.  Each of our non-certified behavioral clinicians are all working toward their certification.

Additionally, each new instructor goes through extensive direct and indirect training, and is extensively supervised by our certified clinicians.  Prior to conducting direct treatment as a behavioral instructor, each employee is required to pass a competency exam in the basic principles of ABA, ethical standards, and behavior change procedures.

All ABA professionals are trained and certified practitioners of Professional Crisis Management.  We use these methods to ethically prevent and reduce dangerous continuous and escalating beahviors that include elopement, aggression, self-injury, and property destruction.

We also provide a highly collaborative approach to all treatment programs.  Every Wednesday evening we have group supervision meetings in which each patient program is fully discussed.  This method helps us to ensure the treatment integrity of our care, as well as provide each client with exceedingly comprehensive treatment.

Bloom also conducts regular in-services for our staff that are developed and provided by our employees.  Our in-services have included Sensory Integration from our OT, PECS training, Parent Managment Training, Graphing, and PCM training. This practice helps to enhance the competency of our staff.
